My first introduction to Bacon candy was at Phat Matts BBQ in Oakland, Ca last year; I was instantly hooked with the sweet, smoky coating melted on a delightfully crispy piece of thick cut bacon.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many of you have never even heard of such a creation I am sure but let me put you at rest by sharing my two versions of this delectable morsel. I would recommend Bacon Candy at any party or Tailgate event but do not think for a second that you can get away with just a couple of slices, just not going to happen, prepare a couple of slabs. Consider yourself warned!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What I am introducing here on Cooking-Outdoors is two versions of Bacon Candy smoked on my new Camp Chef 18\u201d Smoke Vault*. Easy to prepare Brown sugar with a bit of heat Bacon Candy and Brown sugar Cocoa with a bit&nbsp;less heat Bacon Candy. Both versions were smoked using cherry wood chips from my friends at Best of the West.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Smoke time two hours at 250 F.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a class=\"tt-flickr tt-flickr-Medium\" title=\"18&quot; Camp Chef Smoke Vault.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/cooking-outdoors\/6663188889\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;\" title=\"Bacon Candy with Camp Chef Smoke Vault\" alt=\"Bacon Candy with Camp Chef Smoke Vault\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7001\/6663188889_86f7ef0ae9.jpg\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Camp Chef 18&#8243; Smoke Vault.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a class=\"tt-flickr tt-flickr-Medium\" title=\"Candied Bacon on the Smoke Vault\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/cooking-outdoors\/6669439757\/\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" style=\"margin-top: 10px; margin-bottom: 10px;\" title=\"Bacon Candy with Camp Chef Smoke Vault\" alt=\"Bacon Candy with Camp Chef Smoke Vault\" src=\"http:\/\/farm8.staticflickr.com\/7002\/6669439757_ecfe2afc48.jpg\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sprinkle your candy topping on each slice of bacon. I made a dry mix but you could easily use a wet mix here.
