Chef R\u00e9mi Digital Cooking Thermometer Product Review<\/h2>\n

The Chef R\u00e9mi company asked me to review their new Digital Cooking Thermometer\u00a0 – model #TP101 awhile back.<\/p>\n

They were interested in getting it into the hands of someone who would be using it outdoors as opposed to using it indoors and I certainly fit that criteria!<\/p>\n

The Digital Cooking Thermometer arrived in a lightweight envelope rather quickly from Amazon.<\/p>\n

Inside was my new thermometer packed in a strong plastic tube with a cap and lanyard – nice touch.<\/p>\n

It is the “Pen” type digital thermometer style.<\/p>\n

The thermometer, tube and cap weighs all of 1 ounce when I checked it on my postal scale, making it very easy to transport.<\/p>\n

Over all the thermometer looked like a sturdy piece of technology.<\/p>\n

Coming in at 9″ inches in length made the thermometer easy to use over a hot fire!<\/p>\n

Comes complete with the tiniest set of instruction I have ever seen (Or tried to read).<\/p>\n

Fortunately, you don't need to read the instructions to use the Digital Cooking Thermometer right out of the box.<\/p>\n

It's simple digital interface work easily and accurately.<\/p>\n

Just press the On\/Off button to power it up.<\/p>\n

First thing I did was an ice water temp test and it was spot on.<\/p>\n

It's digital readout was bright and easy to read without my reading glasses.<\/p>\n

Four buttons are on the face: On\/Off, Hold, \u00b0C\/\u00b0F and Max\/Min.<\/p>\n

Temperature range is – 50\u00b0C -+ 300\u00b0C \/ -58\u00b0F -+ 572\u00b0F.<\/p>\n

IResolution: 0.1 \u00b0C\/\u00b0F<\/p>\n

10 minute auto shutdown<\/p>\n

The probe shaft is almost 6″ long and ends in a tapered tip.<\/p>\n

In comparison to another brand of instant read digital thermometer I use, it was rather thick and required a slight bit more pressure to insert into the food to test.<\/p>\n

On the other hand it was the same size as another very popular brand of wireless digital thermometer probes – so I won't call this a big negative.<\/p>\n
