I did post it on YouTube back then but for some reason, it never made it to here, until now!<\/p>\n<p>Hope you enjoy this classic as much as I do.<\/p>\n<p>We will just call this a Thursday Gary House with the outdoor cook.<br \/>\nToday, we are cooking on The Beast Grill.<br \/>\nCedar planked meatloaf with a couple of cool twists, some beautiful fresh tomatoes that I\u2019m cooking on a cedar plank also and new red potatoes roasted, couple of new toys from my friends, all on the Cooking Everything Outdoors show.<br \/>\nAnnouncer:<br \/>\nGary House with the outdoor cook Cooking Everything Outdoors show, I hope you try this at home.<br \/>\nPresenter:<br \/>\nSo cedar plank cooking, you know, we\u2019ve talked about this before, these are beautiful cedar planks.<br \/>\nThis particular one has holes in it.<br \/>\nAnd what I\u2019m going to do with that is I\u2019m going to stuff garlic in there and then our meatloaf is going to go on top of this.<br \/>\nSo that is going to add a little bit of a unique flavor.<br \/>\nThe second thing is, is that I\u2019m using ground turkey.<br \/>\nNot the most flavorful thing in a meatloaf, so I\u2019m adding some standard ingredients.<br \/>\nBut to kick it up a bit I\u2019m going to insert some chorizo in the middle of it, that\u2019s pork chorizo.<br \/>\nAnd then I\u2019m going to put a bacon weave over the top of my meatloaf and I\u2019m going to smother it with barbecue sauce and then we\u2019re cooking it on a cedar plank.<br \/>\nSo first thing I have to do is get the cooking side of the cedar plank heated up, so let\u2019s get that on the grill.<br \/>\nI\u2019m going to put it directly over the charcoal briquettes and that\u2019s going to go for just maybe 5 minutes, probably won\u2019t be much longer than that.<br \/>\nMake sure you have a bottle of water around when you do this.<br \/>\nCedar planks can catch on fire, that\u2019s not the end of the world; typically it will burn your food too.<br \/>\nHey, consider yourself warned.<br \/>\nOkay, let\u2019s get this started.<br \/>\nI have 1.4 pounds of ground turkey that we\u2019re going to be using.<br \/>\nBefore I toss that in the bowl I\u2019m going to get my basic ingredients going, so 2 eggs.<br \/>\nScramble those up just a bit.<br \/>\nAnd I\u2019m going to add my other goodies.<br \/>\nOr maybe 1\/3 of a cup, maybe a 1\/2 a cup of basically diced red bell pepper.<br \/>\n1\/4 cup dried parsley.<br \/>\nTablespoon of black coarse ground pepper.<br \/>\nTablespoon of garlic salt and it\u2019s a Lawry seasoning garlic salt&#8211;or excuse me&#8211; garlic salt with parsley.<br \/>\nMaybe a teaspoon of minced garlic.<br \/>\nGood cup of diced onion, yellow.<br \/>\nAnd just a little over a cup of breadcrumbs.<br \/>\nTo that I\u2019m going to be adding my ground turkey.<br \/>\nAnd we need to mix that up.<br \/>\nReally with ground turkey you\u2019ve got to get some flavor into this because it doesn\u2019t have a lot in my opinion.<br \/>\nCould you use ground beef?<br \/>\nYeah, most of you will and that\u2019s okay.<br \/>\nI\u2019m around here.<br \/>\nI\u2019m not going to get this meatloaf eaten if it has beef in it.<br \/>\nJust the way it is.<br \/>\nSo get this mixed up really good.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s all blended together and you can just see by how that\u2019s looking that it is going to be one flavorful dish.<br \/>\nGuess what?<br \/>\nNot done yet.<br \/>\nSo I\u2019m going to be using Allegro Original Barbecue Sauce in and out.<br \/>\nSo let\u2019s get this bad boy open and I want at least 2 tablespoons of barbecue sauce in there.<br \/>\nThat could be 3.<br \/>\nBut it\u2019s so good who\u2019s counting?<br \/>\nI don\u2019t want it too moist, but I do want that flavor.<br \/>\nOkay, you can see what we got going on now.<br \/>\nSo that is just about ready to roll up and go to phase 2.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s take this and start forming it up.<br \/>\nI have here 9 ounces of pork chorizo and we\u2019re going to put that right in the centre.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s get this out.<br \/>\nAnd, you know, we are going to make a pretty significant chunk of meatloaf here but I want to flatten it out as if making bread, if you will, or a big chunk of heavy dough because the chorizo is going to go right in the middle of this.<br \/>\nSo let\u2019s get this opened up.<br \/>\nAnd that should come out as simple as that.<br \/>\nThat\u2019s what I\u2019m looking for.<br \/>\nSo now what we need to do is, is mold the turkey meatloaf over and around this to seal it in.<br \/>\nOne big giant stuffed meatloaf, make it as pretty as that.<br \/>\nA little messy.<br \/>\nSo what\u2019s next?<br \/>\nWe need to take our cedar plank out that we were heating up and I\u2019m going to take that cooked side or the burnt side of the cedar plank and we\u2019ll flip it over.<br \/>\nI\u2019m going to put some olive oil on the surface so that meatloaf doesn\u2019t stick and I\u2019m going to put some garlic in there and then we\u2019re going to put more barbecue sauce and then our bacon weave.<br \/>\nSo here\u2019s our cedar plank.<br \/>\nYou can see the holes in it.<br \/>\nI\u2019ve basically burnt or preheated this side so I need to coat it with olive oil and that\u2019s just to keep it all from sticking.<br \/>\nActually, if I had a half a lick of sense I would get something under that to not stain the table.<br \/>\nGo figure.<br \/>\nOkay, so let\u2019s get this coated.<br \/>\nAlright, so olive oil is on there.<br \/>\nNow we need to get our garlic cloves and I\u2019m just going to insert those in the hole there.<br \/>\nAnd as that\u2019s cooking and smoking up that\u2019s going to add some extra flavor.<br \/>\nSo now to transfer our meatloaf onto the plank.<br \/>\nI\u2019m not sure what the best alternative is, let\u2019s take a look at that, turn it upside down and give it a flip.<br \/>\nWhat do you think?<br \/>\nNot bad.<br \/>\nOkay, so let\u2019s mound this up a little bit more.<br \/>\nThat is one chunk of meatloaf.<br \/>\nNow, turkey loaf for those of you that want to be precise.<br \/>\nI\u2019m going to get it fairly uniform thickness, so as it cooks it will cook evenly.<br \/>\nAlright, so, barbecue sauce, more.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s get this on there.<br \/>\nOh, yeah.<br \/>\nNice, thick, spicy Allegro Barbecue Sauce.<br \/>\nAnd I\u2019m just going to spread that on there.<br \/>\nI might need a little bit more.<br \/>\nOkay, looks good.<br \/>\nSo, bacon time.<br \/>\nWhat I have is some applewood smoked bacon.<br \/>\nI just picked up from the meat counter.<br \/>\nAnd I\u2019m going to need 3 long strips and 1, 2, 3, 4, maybe 6, short strips.<br \/>\nOkay, so let\u2019s get this laid out.<br \/>\n1, 2, 3.<br \/>\nNow to do some weaving.<br \/>\n1.<br \/>\nAnd we\u2019re just going to weave those back and forth in there because we can.<br \/>\nIt really looks pretty cool.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s going to add a lot more flavor to this.<br \/>\nAnd in fact I\u2019m sure by the time all this is done it\u2019s going to be in overdose of flavors and tastes.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s just going to put it over the top, if you will.<br \/>\nOne more piece, look at that!<br \/>\nPerfect count.<br \/>\nThat is it my friends.<br \/>\nThat\u2019s going in the Beast.<br \/>\nIt could be in there for about 250, 250 degrees.<br \/>\nI\u2019ll be using a combination of coconut charcoal, not a combination, I will be using coconut charcoal strictly as my heat source.<br \/>\nI\u2019m not really smoking this at all.<br \/>\nI\u2019m going to have so much flavor in here that I don\u2019t really think I need to add smoke to it.<br \/>\nI think traditionally barbecuers probably want to smoke it and for as long as you want it till it\u2019s done, you know, I\u2019m more of a grill Q kind of guy and that\u2019s what we\u2019re doing.<br \/>\nSo I\u2019m going to pop that in there.<br \/>\nI\u2019ll get a temperature probe in there and I\u2019m going to make sure that hit 165 degrees internal temperature before I pull it.<br \/>\nAnd next we\u2019re going to get our roasted red potatoes going.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s get our new red potatoes going.<br \/>\nWe\u2019re going to roast those on the Beast.<br \/>\nSimple, simple, simple.<br \/>\nI\u2019m going to be using a garlic pepper rub from My Spice Sage, another one of my friends.<br \/>\nLittle bit of olive oil.<br \/>\nThat\u2019s it.<br \/>\nSimple, simple, simple.<br \/>\nSo, all I want to do is take and just run a cut around these.<br \/>\nJust like that.<br \/>\nSo we\u2019ll do this real fast.<br \/>\nLeaving some of the red skin on there.<br \/>\nYou could really season these up any way that you want depending on the flavor of your meal that you are having.<br \/>\nI\u2019m using chorizo in my meatloaf.<br \/>\nI could probably put a little bit of a cumin rub on this.<br \/>\nBut I have more of a garlic barbecue theme going and that\u2019s going to be consistent with my plank cooked potatoes too.<br \/>\nSo let\u2019s get these in the bag.<br \/>\nAdd a little bit of olive oil, maybe, a tablespoon.<br \/>\nAnd then my rub will go in and about a tablespoon of this also should be just enough to coat everything up really good.<br \/>\nNow that they\u2019re all coated we\u2019re going to put them on the beast.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s put these on.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s looking good.<br \/>\nOkay, we\u2019ve been cooking for almost 2 hours.<br \/>\nThe meatloaf is at about 160, so we\u2019re real close to pulling it off.<br \/>\nI\u2019m just making sure that the chorizo inside, is, because it\u2019s pork, it\u2019s at 165.<br \/>\nI don\u2019t want to make any mistakes here.<br \/>\nSo it\u2019s a great time to put the tomatoes on.<br \/>\nSo I\u2019ve preheated up my plank and we\u2019re going to take a peek at where we\u2019re at on this bad boy.<br \/>\nSo that is looking really good.<br \/>\nOur potatoes are nice and soft, our roasted red potatoes.<br \/>\nOur meatloaf is just about done.<br \/>\nI think I would like to see the bacon done a little bit more on the top but it\u2019s probably not going to happen in this cook.<br \/>\nHere\u2019s our plank for our tomatoes.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s get this off and we\u2019ll oil it up and cut some tomatoes and get ready for this part of the cook.<br \/>\nSo I have my cedar plank all heated up and toasty<br \/>\nWe got a couple of beautiful tomatoes here of yellow tomato and a nice big beefsteak, well maybe not beefsteak, but a nice big red tomato.<br \/>\nWe\u2019re going to slice those up and lay them on the plank.<br \/>\nSome seasoning and we\u2019re going to have a real nice grill here.<br \/>\nSo let\u2019s get some olive oil on our plank just so it doesn\u2019t stick and give these a cut here.<br \/>\nI need to core these out a little bit.<br \/>\nAnd do I bring my small knife to do it?<br \/>\nNo, of course not.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s get this bad boy out of there.<br \/>\nOkay, nice little butcher\u2019s job there.<br \/>\nGet me some slices.<br \/>\nPretty good slices, 1\/4 inch slices.<br \/>\nThat is beautiful.<br \/>\nI love these yellow tomatoes because they don\u2019t have a lot of acid in them, they have a lot of flavor.<br \/>\nWe\u2019re going to add a bit of smokiness.<br \/>\nAnd, again, some of our garlic pepper rub from My Spice Sage, so let\u2019s get these coated up real quick here.<br \/>\nHow am I going to get them all on the plank?<br \/>\nI have no idea.<br \/>\nWe\u2019ll get a little olive oil on these.<br \/>\nI\u2019m going to need some more here.<br \/>\nSprinkling some herbs, some rub, give it some nice big garlic flakes in there.<br \/>\nOkay, let\u2019s see how many we can get on here.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s do it this way.<br \/>\nThere\u2019s going to be 6, yeah, get 8 slices on there.<br \/>\nWe can do this.<br \/>\nOkay.<br \/>\nUse up the last of mild olive oil.<br \/>\nPut a little bit more oil on here just so that rub can stick to it.<br \/>\nWow, that looks good.<br \/>\nOkay, seasoned up the way I like it.<br \/>\nNow we\u2019re going to put them on the Beast.<br \/>\nI\u2019m going to set it right on the coals.<br \/>\nCook that up.<br \/>\nJust a few more minutes and dinner will be served.<br \/>\nWe\u2019re done.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s check this out.<br \/>\nSo cedar planked bacon weave, turkey, chorizo, barbecue, meatloaf cooked on a plank.<br \/>\nBig title, long name, I\u2019ll figure out how to shorten it up.<br \/>\nGot some roasted red potatoes and cedar planked summer vegetables i.e. specifically tomatoes.<br \/>\nJust beautiful!<br \/>\nLet\u2019s plate some of this up and see how we did.<br \/>\nMeatloaf, I\u2019m going to cut a wedge off this here.<br \/>\nThat is juicy.<br \/>\nI\u2019m liking that.<br \/>\nCouple of potatoes off here.<br \/>\nCouple of beautiful tomatoes.<br \/>\nMmm.<br \/>\nNow that is looking good.<br
