\/>\n<strong>Presenter:<\/strong><br \/>\nHey, everybody, today we\u2019re making Grilled Blueberry Shortcake on the Cooking Everything Outdoors show.<br \/>\n<strong>Announcer:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Cooking Everything Outdoors show is sponsored by Camp Chef and www.OutdoorCooking.com and www.IslandGrillstone.com.<br \/>\n<strong>Presenter:<\/strong><br \/>\nNow, the first thing we have to do is get our blueberry sauce made.<br \/>\nTo accomplish this I\u2019m going to be using the Camp Chef Somerset Stove and a 10-inch cast iron skillet.<br \/>\nFor our blueberry sauce we\u2019ll need 2 cups of fresh blueberries, 1 1\/2 a cup of sugar, 1 tablespoon of fresh squeezed orange juice, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract and some corn starch if needed.<br \/>\nTake your skillet and start preheating it.<br \/>\nI have mine set on medium.<br \/>\nNow, let\u2019s add our blueberries, sugar, orange juice.<br \/>\nWhat we\u2019re going to do is we\u2019re going to melt our sugar.<br \/>\nSoften our blueberries.<br \/>\nAnd then we\u2019re going to mash them up.<br \/>\nSo, after a few minutes when your berry start breaking down, you can make a decision at this point to either take and mash them up further, which you can certainly use a potato masher and do that but I want some thickness and consistency to mine.<br \/>\nBig surprise there, right?<br \/>\nSo I\u2019m going to leave it just like that.<br \/>\nI want to be able to see the berries in my sauce.<br \/>\nNow, I want to add my vanilla extract, has the final touch.<br \/>\nGet that mixed really good.<br \/>\nNow, if this isn\u2019t thicken up for you and it will thicken up as it cools, this is where you could add some corn starch.<br \/>\nBe a matter of adding some into there.<br \/>\nYou can make it slower if you want it also.<br \/>\nBut it doesn\u2019t take much.<br \/>\nI had that just where I want it.<br \/>\nTime to pull it off and let it set.<br \/>\nAnd we\u2019re going to let that cool.<br \/>\nNow, we\u2019re going to prepare our shortcake.<br \/>\nNow, you can make traditional shortcake if you want, and I probably should, but I\u2019m not going to.<br \/>\nI really like mine with pound cake but I\u2019m going to grill the pound cake.<br \/>\nAnd I\u2019ll show you how easy that it is to do.<br \/>\nIt adds a nice little caramelization to the surface of the pound cake and it\u2019s really just top-notch.<br \/>\nSo I encouraged you to give this a try.<br \/>\nI have here a simple loaf of pound cake that I picked up and it\u2019s even easier to make than it is to drive to the store.<br \/>\nBut I know a lot of you aren\u2019t going to make it.<br \/>\nSo what I\u2019m looking for are pretty good 3 1\/3 inch slices here.<br \/>\nOnce you\u2019ve sliced up your pound cake, you need to melt some butter.<br \/>\nSo what I have here is a stick of butter.<br \/>\nI just want to melt that up completely.<br \/>\nNow, we want to grill our pound cake.<br \/>\nThis will go pretty quick.<br \/>\nTake a single piece, dip it in your butter, both sides, put it on your preheated grill box.<br \/>\nAnd I oil this nicely.<br \/>\nNow, we\u2019re going to get some grill marks.<br \/>\nNow, you see how quick that grilled up.<br \/>\nAnd these are just beautiful, fantastic grill marks on there.<br \/>\nThat\u2019s from the butter in the preheated grill.<br \/>\nLet\u2019s put this together and I\u2019ll show you what one of these looks like.<br \/>\nNow, I\u2019m using some cheddar whipped cream.<br \/>\nI highly recommend you make your own.<br \/>\nThroughout in the boonies it\u2019s not likely to happen.<br \/>\nBut I have some real nice French vanilla whipping cream here.<br \/>\nA few fresh blueberries.<br \/>\nTake some of our yummy blueberry sauce.<br \/>\nTrills that on there.<br \/>\nRound the sides.<br \/>\nLittle bit more whipping cream.<br \/>\nAnd because you\u2019re watching this on the 4th of July, we\u2019re just going to top it off a little bit more.<br \/>\nSo it\u2019s as simple as that, grilled blueberry shortcake on the Camp Chef Somerset Stove with the barbecue box attachment.<br \/>\nWe\u2019ll give it a try.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s absolutely fantastic.<br \/>\nI know you\u2019re going to love this.<br \/>\nAnd it\u2019s so simple.<br \/>\nSo go knock this out in your backyard.<br \/>\nAnd I\u2019ll see you when I see
