Fair. Your talk rekindiled my interest in outdoor cooking and using my Dutch oven. My son and I went through Boy Scouts together where we first learned to use Dutch ovens. I’ve watched scouts make stews, cobblers, cinnimon buns, lobster and baked alaska. We’ve even made entire meals for the troop by stacking multiple pots to maximize the heat from the coals.
I loved your idea of using my gas barbecue to heat the dutch oven. My suggestion is to explore the possabilities of baking in the dutch oven using the gas barbecue since it would be easier to regulate the temperature and experiment with techniques for cooking entire meals using D.O.s. I am guessing that I should be able to take my crock pot cook book and easily adapt the recipes to my dutch Oven.
P.S. Thankyou for the 100 tips.
